Job Announcement:  Systems, Facilities and Safety Administrator

Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District has an immediate opening for a Systems, Facilities and Safety Administrator. This is a full-time, exempt position.

 Under the general supervision of the District Manager, the person is expected to coordinate and oversee the District’s public water and sanitary sewer operations including but not limited to:

  • Updating and tracking maintenance records and reports.

  • Communication and coordination with the District Operations and Maintenance Contractor.

  • Communication and coordination with the District Engineer and Field Observers on the implementation of the Annual O&M Contract.

  • Administration of Colorado 811 locate requests.

  • District liaison with regulatory agencies.

  • Activities of developments, developers and prospective connectors.

  • Computer hardware, software and back-up operations.

  • Approves applications for tap permits, fire hydrant permits and contractor licenses.

  • Upkeep of the district office and premises.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. 

  • Effective written and verbal skills

  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel and Access Databases

  • Proficiency using ArcGIS

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and operate independently when needed to ensure efficient office operation and prompt service to the public.

  • Ability to make decisions and handle emergencies in compliance with adopted rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

 Education and Experience.  High School Graduation required, higher education desired, experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Colorado Water and Wastewater Facility Operators Certification Board Class 3 Distribution and Collection Operator certification or equivalent desired but not required. 

 Comfortable working environment in a residential neighborhood. May require minimal availability after hours and weekends.  Candidate must allow the district to obtain current background check.

 Compensation is dependent upon the applicant’s qualifications within the established range from $54,000-$60,000.  Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District offers a highly competitive benefit package including paid holidays, sick and vacation leave, retirement plan and medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
